Nine and a quarter million. Never thought I'd say that. I've posted many messages about milestones effectively congratulating myself and dedicating it to others. I always feel a bit weird doing it, and this time especially. The number feels again like a direction to head, which I find strange because I posted about it in 2022 as an 'ultimate score'. I don't think there's an end goal on the official score though for me any more. 9,260,000 is possible but rather insignificant. 9,300,000 is maybe doable in a decade or something but I'd have to reevaluate everything yet again. I'll be 24 in May, and I don't exactly plan on spending the rest of my life grinding this game. Honestly, I thought I'd have stopped playing a lot by now, but every now and then I'd get the motivation to play again. I'm still going for the highscores I set out in the respective level threads, so you can potentially expect to see some improvements there.
Obligatory theoretical limit talk. Current total of highscores (19th March 2026) seems to be 9,268,016 - though that number may be wrong. I think there's also a few improvements I (and I'm sure others if they were active) can make to push that theoretical total towards the 9,270,000 mark, but after that it's a tough grind. That doesn't make 9,270,000 realistic for me, or even 9,260,000 honestly. All of the scores I'm missing require some crazy shenanigans which I've tried to execute many times without success. All scores are very strong at this point.
All I have left to say is thank you to the entire BL community, past and present, for providing this platform to play the games on, a community to interact with, and the benchmarks to shoot for. The past fifteen years have been a blast, and the last decade or so especially. Good luck to everyone and hope you're all doing well, wherever you are. This isn't a goodbye, I don't expect that you'll hear that from me ever. I just feel I have one less ghost on my back in a way.
I wish you luck Chris! I think 8,000,000 is the iconic score as always, but I don't remember you utilising a lot of the modern improvements, so I'm guessing it might even be less daunting when you get up to speed with the game again?
I'm doing well so far thanks, how are you in 2026?
I'm considering trying to get up to 8M as soon as possible when I have some extra free time. I haven't played this game in ages. About 5-6 months ago. I'll have to play the first 5-10 officials again to regain my memory and skill here. Y'all having a good 2026 so far?
This game brings back nostalgia and memories for me back from 2009-2020. Ever since Adobe Flash died, things haven't been the same since. And a majority of community members here have left. OliAli,Asteria,Pof and Shiro are four pros that were around from way back then.
Unless a lot happens between now and the last time I play this game - I think that 9.2M is the last 100k milestone I will achieve. I'm not even sure if 9.3M is actually possible with the current knowledge, and if it is it would require many levels to gain another second. 9.25M was always the pipe dream score, and honestly I wouldn't have any motivation to creep towards it without a couple of the improvements SuperMario found. 9.25M was always possible but it would have required about 130 of the highscores or something to do, whereas right now I may get away with the amount I have now (I think 113 or 114). I don't think I will ever hold them all. I'm thinking of working on 61k on Mountain Falls and then seeing if there are other levels I can push further.
Soon enough CG52, you'll be at 9.3M. So how many more highscores must you claim before obtaining all of them? I looked at your page an hour ago and saw your score. That's how I knew.
It has been a while since I've 'uploaded' a level to be accepted. Whilst I'm not too sure if I will accept this level in its current form, I have been preparing one of my hardest creations for a long time. For now. I have made it about halfway through this level on my best attempt, I'm thinking this one is reasonable but really hard currently. I won't accept it yet in case I want to change anything (and partially because I want to be able to beat it first :P). Let me know what you think!
I believe the majority of people can become good at this game. Just about playing it enough. Until the start of 2018 I was just outside of the top 50 without a single official highscore ever, believe it or not.
On this game? Got a couple of levels I want to make and then beat and a few highscores I want to get. My long time goals of each 100,000 barrier have kind of lost any chance of happening. I think that all the highscores totalled doesn't even reach 9,300,000 - and although 9,250,000 is possible, it's a bit too extreme for me right now... maybe if a couple of headjumps were used but I feel that's a bit pointless. Mostly I just play the Global Tournament to improve my scores overall.
I haven't played this game too much in the past couple of months. I noticed SuperMario came back and played for a bit and got a few highscores, and I tried a bit to reclaim them but I think if I can it will take a while, both of the ones I found were pretty strong.
Hi! You need an old version of Flash and a supporting web browser to do it. The most used one for BL is Pale Moon. In terms of getting the old version of Flash, the best way might be to join the BL discord to find it as a pinned message. I don't exactly remember how to set it all up as it was ages ago but that how I did it.
