Well you are supposed to enter an 8-digit number so if you have a number with less digits, you just have to stuff it with zeros from left side.

Actually easier than I thought^^ I always had the right solution, but always one number was missing. Then I did the same solution, and I just added a first number. Doesn't these numbers never start with 0?

yeah, it is intentionally made so that you cannot guess which switch to press, until you have them all right :)
but the code above is a big hint...
